Pohopoho style, with sashing

Tropical Floral

Tropical Floral

Tropical Floral is an example of the pohopoho style of Hawaiian Quilt. Poho means "patch", so pohopoho means many patches, or blocks.

Blocks can be assembled with or without sashing. When sashing is used the traditional echo quilt lines continue to the edge of the block, where they meet the sashing. A braid, or other quilt pattern is used in the sashing.
TIP: Assemble three blocks to make a table runner. Use individual blocks as placemats. Or use varying numbers of blocks for wall hangings, tote bags, garment embellishments, or include these blocks in a sampler or album quilt.
You can even create blocks with a color theme and create a Bed Quilt. This could be your portable King or Queen size quilt.

You can do this with any combination of our Hawaiian Block Patterns, We have Tropical II, Tropical III, Tropical Fruit and Nuts as well as Royalty and Hula. What combination will you put together.
