Most years I take a bit of time and create a small free Two Fabric Applique Style quilt pattern. Last year when I took photos of the Poinsettia quilt I had a couple cute little Christmas Gnome salt and pepper shakers in the photos and everyone was more interested in my little Gnomes than in the pattern so... I decided you needed a little Gnome of your very own. Here he is. He was very fun to make and I hope you like him.
When we vend at Quilt Shows one of the things that customers enjoy is the fact they can see the samples and check out how they are quilted. There is only one thing that they all have in common and that is the fact that we always stitch in the ditch around the applique and then will do the rest of the quilting.

I am very excited about these SPECIAL new fabrics. I have been working with Majestic Batik from here in Oregon to create some fabrics that you have been asking for!!! I am thrilled that I can now share the new fabrics with you and I have them available online. I have the yardage, fabric packs as well as the kits which include the pattern. These fabrics were created to resemble the fabrics which some of your favorite samples were made from.

The pieces are all larger and there is a bit more stitching! But you know, I am really enjoying it. This was the piece I took with me when I traveled to Minnesota. I worked on it in the airplane as well as in the car.

I had an opportunity to teach a one day, 2 Fabric Applique Class at Threads that Bind Quilt Shop in Coos Bay Oregon.
I have added Laser Cut Kits of some of our 2 Fabric Applique Quilt Kits. I currently have our top 5 selling patterns as Laser Cut Kits. You will fine kits for Herd of Turtles, Elephants, Giraffe Family, Dragonflies in Flight and Candlelight. Come take a look at the wonderful combinations.
These kits are perfect for that quick project. Since they are pre-fused and laser cut they are only appropriate for machine applique. Enjoy!
READ MORE >One of the questions I was asked about when I vend at a show was: "I see you have a sun pattern where is the moon?"
This pattern has is very special to me because I was able to design a pattern to coordinate with a pattern designed by Nancy Lee Chong. As most of you know Nancy is a friend of mine and she is the reason I learned needleturn and Hawaiian Quilting. It has been about 3 1/2 years since my husband and I became the owners of Pacific Rim Quilt Company and since then I have had some big shoes to fill stepping into such a well known and respected company. I finally feel like I am hitting my stride and able to bring some of me into the company. I have been able to do this with the day to day operation but even more important to me is the designing. Between quilting and designing this is the main reasons I wanted to become the owner. I guess Moon Dance is a symbol of combining the previous with the current Pacific Rim Quilt Company.

Through the end of June I am going to be donating $2.00 from each Dragonflies in Flight 2 Fabric Applique Pattern that I sell to the LaVeta Fire District. I chose the Dragonflies in Flight 2 Fabric Applique Pattern because there are numerous Dragonflies that live in the area. Here are a few photos of them. These photos were taken by Polly Neldner of LaVeta Colorado.
You may be wondering why I want to do this, I have a strong family connection to this place. In 1995 my parents built a log home in the mountains between LaVeta and Cuchara in Southern Colorado
